Titus & Ryan Case
Fox News Live - The Line - reports on the case
October 22, 2006

  • The Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan case has taken the national airwaves again this weekend. I caught this one on Fox News Live, on a program called The Line, at 6:40pm PST. An already bizarre high profile murder case takes another riveting turn. This case gets more and more bizarre all of the time. It turns out that the informant is Deen Cassin, who is in jail on another high profile case, the robbery of Greg 'Fossilman' Raymer, who was the 2004 World Series of Poker champion. Deen and an accomplice, Kevin Joy, tried to rob Greg at the Bellagio hotel on December 20, 2005. Deen Cassin allegedly tried to hire Nelson Brady Jr. in this bizarre twist.

Glenn Puit, author of the book, Fire in the Dessert, about Titus and Ryan, was on the show, as he was the first reporter to break the story in print in lots of detail (the Vegas news stations had the story on at 11on Friday evening). This is another remarkable development in an already remarkable case. Deen Cassim and Craig Titus were housed together for a while. They way the prosecutors say, the believe that the book deal that they were talking about was about the murder for hire of three witnesses. Craig Titus obviously denies all of this. Almost all of the talking is done by Mr. Brady, not by Titus.

The alleged targets are Megan Pierson Foley, Jeremy Foley, and Anthony Gross, the three key witnesses in the case. If linked to this, then Craig Titus might be facing also another charge of solicitation to murder.

Bob Massey, legal analyst, says that even though there is no tie to Titus right now, it has tainted the entire case even more so. They now have an even more uphill battle. They wanted to whack the witness that was there when the body was burned. Solicitation for murder is not difficult to prove. If they have enough evidence for that, they will get Brady. As for the key witnesses, how voluntary will they be to testify in the case.

Paul Henderson, a California prosecutor, says they want to pin this on Titus, by trying to find a link between Brady's behavior and Titus' information. Looking for things to see if Titus encouraged Brady's behavior, and how the information came with the witnesses full name and information, and also, where did the money come from, and also, why would Brady be focusing on just these witnesses?

Michelle Suskauer, also on the programs, talked about the characters in the book deal. And if that is what they were discussing, you have to be creative to say and prove that it was just a book deal. And if Brady should flip, you will then need to attack his creativity. Will there be a deal offered to Brady? And if there is none, why couldn't there be a book deal in this high profile case being done?
