No Pain, No Gain Bodybuilding T-Shirts in Iraq
July 18, 2006

  • To all, we took this photo right before a mission where we caught 18 insurgents. My squad caught 9 and out of that 9 I myself caught 5! We chased them all night with satellites choppers and infantry (my squad). We were attached to 10th Mountain so they got the credit, but oh well - I got one of those coin medallions from the Sergeant Major for excellence of duty during battle. It doesn't mean shit to me. I love what I'm doing and not for the medals. Anyway I will send you more pics of us soon. Thank you for the support and everyone is going insane for your t-shirts! They were like gold over here! Much love and respect!

  • About the movie... No Pain, No Gain is a 35mm feature-length dramatic film set in the world of bodybuilding starring champion bodybuilders Gus Malliarodakis and former IFBB Pro Dennis Newman. Two-time ESPN "Worlds Strongest Women" Jill Mills is also featured in the movie, as well as IFBB Pro, former Mr. Romania and Masters Olympia competitor Emeric Delczeg.

Plucked from the current headlines, No Pain, No Gain, is the first film set in the world of bodybuilding since the 1977 classic, Pumping Iron, which launched the career of Arnold Schwarzenegger who has evolved from professional bodybuilder to superstar actor to governor of California. However, No Pain, No Gain is not a documentary, but rather a fiction film.

No Pain, No Gain recently had a nationwide premiere at 250 theaters, and was an official selection at the São Paulo International Film Festival in Brazil. It also screened to enthusiastic crowds at the Palm Beach Film Festival and the Houston Film Festival (Worldfest) where it won an award for Best Director, First Feature.

No Pain, No Gain has received worldwide media attention on television, radio, magazines and newspapers, including a glowing profile on ESPN. The movie covers immensely important and timely issues such as the increasing obsession with body image, fad diets and working out, plus directly deals with the steroid controversy in sports. Statement from "No Pain, No Gain" Writer-Producer-Director Samuel Turcotte

"This film is the realization of a lifelong dream," said Turcotte. "I have been involved in the world of bodybuilding since I was 15 and for years have wanted to create a film about this fascinating and misunderstood sport. Bodybuilders have long been grossly misrepresented in the media and my film gives a more balanced and realistic portrayal."
