Titus & Ryan Case
Craig & Kelly were officially indicted on Friday in Las Vegas

March 24, 2006

Last week, there was a number of witnesses going to the Clark County Grand Jury to give them their testimony on what they knew or what their involvement was with Craig & Kelly. The prosecutors of the case had decided that instead of going to court and having the defense team grill the witnesses, they would bypass the preliminary hearings, and have the Grand Jury indict them. We thought the indictment would occur last Friday. It didn't. But on Thursday (yesterday), they were indicted.

With the indictment, they can now go to the next phase, moving to a state court, and starting with a new judge, mostly likely the trail judge, where they can argue on the various motions, such as suppressing the statements that Craig & Kelly made to the Las Vegas detectives when they were in Massachusetts.

It looks like we will see Craig & Kelly (and Anthony Gross) arraigned in court next Wednesday, the 29th of March, were they will most likely plead not guilty to all of the charges.

Sooner or later, we will be able to view (hopefully) the Grand Jury's witnesses statements (the transcript should be made public), and who exactly said what. While we know a few of them, like Kelly's best friend (Megan) and her husband (Jeremy), Lauren Amanda Polk and Ryan Chastain (who bought the taser gun for Craig), Gregory Ruiz and others, it will be interesting to hear and read what exactly was told to them.

What is also interesting is that the county coroner’s autopsy still has the cause of death as undermined, and had listed some drug intoxication as possibly a contributing factor. One wonders if they are going to test the various drugs they found as whether it was in Melissa's system before or after the incident occurred.
