Yes. One on one, a full grown male lion would destroy a hyena. Hyenas take down lions when the hyenas are traveling in packs and the lion is alone or is a cub.

Id agree with you about the hippo and the elephant. Not many animals are going to take down a fully grown hippo or elephant. Not too sure about the rhino though.

Well, crocs and alligators avoid hippos.  And there are quite a few videos of lions trying to take down a hippo to no avail.
