  • Fadhli, Amy
    I was born in Galveston, Texas on January 30. I have three siblings, a twin brother, an older brother, and an older sister. When I was one year old, my parents moved our family to Port Arthur, Texas, where I was raised, except for the brief year and a half we resided in the Middle East. Yes... in case you were wondering how I got my exotic looks, my father is from Baghdad, and my mother is Czech. My father, now retired, is a cardiovascular surgeon and a talented sculptor. My mother, an avid equestrian and breeder of Arabian horses, had me riding at the tender age of 4. A nature girl at heart, I love all God's creatures, especially animals.

    After graduating from college with a degree in (believe it or not) dental hygiene, I moved to Northern California, where I first got involved in serious fitness training. Two and a half years had passed, and homesick forTexas, I moved to Dallas and began swimsuit modeling and competing in bikini contests. I won several swimsuit titles, lots of cash, prizes, trips, and even a car. My hard work and training had finally paid off. I realized that my physique had advanced to competition level, so upon the urging of some of my friends and family, I decided to try my luck in a fitness show. I submitted my photo and resume' to the promoter of the Fitness America Pageant. As a result, I was invited to compete in the National Championships that year. I won the physique round, but placed only ninth overallq6y in the pageant. I enjoyed competing that first year, and began to feel confident that I had a chance at the title. At the same time, the fitness community started to take notice of me. A scout from Muscle and Fitness took a shine to me and as they say, the rest is history. The following year I competed again, and finished as first runner up. Fiercely competitive by nature and more determined than ever before, I kicked up my routine that next year, and became the Fitness America National Champion!

    Competing in fitness has opened many doors for me. It has launched my acting career, enabled me to become an entrepreneur, but most importantly has helped me to inspire others to achieve their personal fitness goals. Guest appearances, modeling, and acting have taken me to all corners of the world: Hong Kong, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Guam, and even Lebanon! My career has brought me many adventuresome and exciting times. I have been blessed with good friends, loyal fans and especially a loving family. I wouldn't trade any of them for the world!

  • Friend, Angel
    I grew up in a small town in central Pennsylvania called Lewisberry. As a child, my older sister and two older brothers were always involved in sports. When I was 5, I began taking ballet, dance, and baton twirling. By age 10, I was competing in baton all over the East Coast. I also took gymnastics for a short while, but then switched to baton when it became too costly. I continued to learn gymnastics by trying new skills in my yard or by breaking in the furniture ( not a technique I would recommend to anyone ). In high school I got back into gymnastics and started competing at age 17 for Central PA Academy of Gymnastics. I couldn't get enough of it and I worked out with both the high school team and the club team. After graduation from high school I attended West Chester University in West Chester, PA. Things were going well, and I continued to progress as a gymnast very quickly. Then, just one week out prior to our first meet of my junior season, I tore my ACL and cartilage in my left leg while dismounting from Bars. As part of my rehab program from surgery I was given several leg exercises which I practiced in the football weight room. I responded quickly to the training and was back on track for the senior season when I tore more cartilage in my knee just one week prior to our first meet ( Again!). Following graduation, I decided that I was dissatisfied with ending my gymnastics career on such a low note. I moved to Ocean City, Maryland, seeking a teaching job and found my way to the nearest gym to get into shape. It was there that I met Chuck Gochnour and Jule Mussell at Mussell & Fitness Gym on 1st street in O.C. Chuck trained me several times a week and tought me how to make gains through consistent training. ( All the while he encouraged me to try my hand at competitive bodybuilding ). In 1997 I moved to College Park, MD and began teaching at a school just outside of Washington, DC. While working out at Olympus Gym in Silver Spring, I met IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Susan Myers. Sue helped me to train for my first bodybuilding show, the 1997 Body Rock Classic. I placed 2nd as a lightweight and took the Best Poser award. After the show, Sue introduced me to Nutrition Guru, Todd Swinney. Todd helped me to learn about an amazing part of my now daily diet, "PROTEIN"! It was Todd who encouraged me to try fitness. (This was the ultimate chance for me to finish my "gymnastics" carrer on a high note). My first fitness show was the 1998 Maryland State Bodybuilding Championships. Although I only placed 2nd, I was hooked! She had knee reconstruction surgery in February 1999.

    Before she entered fitness contests, Angel was in a bodybuilding contest in 1997, and finished second place in the lightweight division. Fitness Contests include 1999 NPC Nationals Tall 7th; 2000 Jr. Nationals Tall 1st; 2000 NPC USA Medium 1st; 2000 NPC Team Universe Medium 1st & Overall; 2001 Pittsburgh Pro 22nd; 2002 New York Pro 19th; 2002 Southwest Pro 7th;
